Sammy's 6th Birthday Party

Sammy's party was this past Sunday and we had lots of fun. It was a beautiful day and we got to share in with special friends and family. Sammy has lots of friends and we were happy most everyone could come. He had a LEGO party complete with LEGO cake (made by Grandma Nena), LEGO cars (that Sammy had built), balloons, games, special gift bags with LEGO'S and LEGO fruit snacks, and a very special LEGO city built by my brother, Troy. It is so awesome and the kids loved playing with it. Troy is an amazingly creative and talented guy. Sammy got LOTS of LEGO presents, which he has been working on putting together since Monday morning. He got some gift cards and cash and bought MORE LEGOS!! He is just like his uncle and is very good at building. Sammy can put all the sets together by himself and doesn't have any trouble. Even that big one pictured above. Sammy is such an awesome kid. He is very smart, sweet, and loving. I am very proud of what a great little boy he has become and I am so glad he was born 6 years ago!!

Paving paradise to put up a parking lot

Sammy had two cavities filled today. The poor thing. He did so super. I am very proud of him for being so braved. We have changed some bad habits and hopefully will promote better dental health.

Today I was going to take the boys to a small park in Greenfield behind our post office. The kids got all excited and as we came to the park we realized ALL THE PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT WAS GONE!!!!! No swings, no slides, no jungle gym, no picnic tables, NOTHING!! Just mounds of sand where once laid our favorite park. It was a sad sad sad day!! We were all very upset and disappointed. I told Mitch about it and he said they tore it down to build a parking lot for the post office. So they are "paving paradise to put up a parking lot!!" How very sad!

On a good note though, my good friend Tracy had baby #4 today!! Luke Thomas Lewis. I got to see him but I am looking forward to holding him in a few days!!

Fun day with friends

Today was an awesome day. Today is Sammy's actual birthday. We celebrated his birthday on Sunday with a wonderful party (pictures and more info still to come) Today we went to West Park in Carmel and took his very good friends Mikayla and Michael. Michael is a friend from his preschool 2 years ago and we have been so blessed that Carrie, his wonderful mother, watches the boys often when I work. Somehow we will probably be related because as you see Sammy has a little thing for Mikayla. Anyway, there was lots of fun stuff to do and the kids we busy playing and having a wonderful time. Thanks to Carrie for letting me borrow her kids today!

(Also you see Joey climbing a "web". He loved it and for just 3 years old has such amazing strength. I took a video of him climbing and will still try to figure out how to post it.)

Spring Mills July 13th, 08

This picture is of me and the boys. Joey 3 1/2 yrs and Sammy almost 6 yrs old. We were at Spring Mills a couple weekends ago. We went for the day, with my Mom and Dad, to visit my brother and his family while they were camping there for the week. We had such a fun time. My boys love to go on adventures and it is so fun to go with such curious and fun kids. They found Indian paper (tree bark) and swung on a real vine! I treasure this picture because I have few of me with both boys. (They are very busy and I am usually trying to keep them in line) I love that Joey just put his arms around our necks. We had a great day and got to visit with family and my sister-in-law's family.

Joey with Papo

My mom emailed me this picture of Joey and my dad at their local pool. Joey has taken after my dad in his LOVE of water. Notice the wetsuit. Joey has absolutely no body fat to keep him warm and will get cold even if it's 90 degrees outside. He loves to dive for stuff and is under the water more than out of it. I have never before seen any 3 year old like him in the water. It is awesome.

Summer 2008

Wow! I am now a blogger. I thought I would give this I try. I am excited to be able to start keeping a journal of the wonderful times that our family has. They are so precious. Today Sammy and I are hanging out getting ready for his 6th Birthday Party tomorrow. Joey is with Grandma Nena and Papo and has been there since Wednesday. He will be home tomorrow. It has been nice to be able to spend time with just Sammy. Joey will get alot of that when Sammy starts school (Aug 13th). Sammy has actually missed him and said in his prayer to please not let Joey die. I'll let you know how the party goes and hopefully will get up some pictures.
